The Positivity Wave

Welcome to the 1st #PositivityWave of 2021! N°79

Welcome to today’s Happy Friday! My remedy against feeling down is to make a list of all the good things in my life. It can be anything. Really, anything. The smallest gesture from a stranger can change your day, if you open your eyes. Now, I am a pessimistic and I need daily reminders to look for the bright side. Maybe you are too, or maybe the state of our world is weighing on you. In any case, here’s your shot at some happy things!

I didn’t feel like posting a positivity post when the year began as I am not a fan of the period, and I couldn’t gather enough positivity to share, but here we are, back to spread some joy.

  • Dog cuddles in the morning. The alarm is the signal my oldest waits for to jump on me and claim her “good morning” cuddles. I love it.
  • Meeting a hen! Yep, you read that right. Didn’t know there was a hen in this urban neighborhood! Or is it a chicken?? 🧐🤨
  • Feeling helpful. I often feel like I’m the one needing help, so when I can actually use what I know to give a hand to someone, it makes me very happy.
  • When your BFF loves your book BFF.
  • The perfect shelfie + dog
  • All-hour conversations with the one who know me best. With the right friends, a bad Friday night of dead cats and pissy dogs can turn into a fun time.
  • Growth. Recently I’ve finally noticed how much I’ve grown in the last year/years. It simply dawned on me when unexpected things happened and my reaction was completely different from what it would have been before. I definitely don’t have everything figured out, but I feel confident enough to set boundaries, feel connected with myself, recognize when it’s out of my control, and yes, I’ve learned to take a step back. I can’t pinpoint when it’s happened but it did, and I’m grateful to myself.
  • Trying new things. New book genres, new Instagram themes, new approaches to whatever comes around. New can be good!
  • Dedicated time for reading! It’s a game changer! I have been able to get through more stories thanks to my new routine.
  • Takeaway food. I’m addicted to Chinese food.
  • A new bedding set, all comfy and pretty.
  • Daring! I’ve been much more daring recently, and it’s proved to be awesome. I’ve gained knowledge, friendships, and general happiness.
  • Yes. A simple yes from someone you admire and could possibly change a lot of things for you.
  • Cake. Always.
  • Frozen II! I finally watched it!!! And cried.
  • Silly selfies. Anything not to mess with my bangs with my headband…
  • A journal… kind of. If you’ve read The Power Hour, the six questions before six will talk to you! I love waking up a little earlier to sit down and answer six questions to really anchor intention into my day.
  • Being snuggled in when it’s raining outside 💕 It’ll never get old!

That’s it for me right now. I want to hold on to those little moments of joy, and I hope your week will be filled with snippets of happiness too. Take care…

Meggy xx

  1. I love that dog + shelfie *goals*! I also love that you’re not afraid of posting silly photos, you’re so confident. Even though it’s not silly at all, it’s cute! You seem to be in a great place at the moment, I’m very happy it’s happening for you! Finally, what’s your fav Chinese food then? I always take the same (nasi with chicken, nothing very special). Have a lovely Saturday Meggy! xxx

    1. Right?? Iris just nailed the shelfie!!!! I am so proud of her, haha! I have another real good, this time with Yûki, out on my Insta tomorrow for Sunday Shelfie xD
Thank you, lovely. Even if things are so awful in the world, I do feel good, and I’m happy about it.
I always order the same, Chicken with black mushroom and noodles with veggies! Have a lovely day, my friend xx

  2. This is such a nice post, I’m not feeling very positive at all right now, but I’m still running which is a massive achievement snd your post made me think, on our run, which is urban around the town is a house with chickens in a run in the front garden, I hear them and look as I run past. It’s a funny thing because you wouldn’t expect to see them there x

    1. Oh, lovely, I am sending all my love. Some days I say FORK positivity. I am so proud of you for running! I must admit the weather has not been good and it’s been the perfect excuse for me to run less often, but I miss it! YOU HAVE URBAN CHICKENS TOO!!! That’s so weird! xxx

  3. Great to see these posts back! January can be a tough month to get through and we need some positivity! Sounds like there have been quite a few good things to write about. I like the growth thing you mention, that really is very satisfactory when you feel you can tackle more and respond in a more balanced fashion. Of course it can’t compete with cake! 😁😉 (no, just kidding…).

  4. Always love coming to read your positivity posts as they always lift me up, because they remind me about how much I have in my own life to be thankful for. And it’s always good to know we’re capable of not only changing but coping with some of the worst things life throws at us. And always love the selfies. You rock, Sweetie! xx

  5. I love this post so much. Only you would meet a cockerel on your walks. You are adorable and your positivity will inspire so many people. I know you inspire me on the daily. Keep being you just the way you are. Love you, K x

  6. So nice to see a positivity wave again. I missed them, but also understand that they can’t be forced.
Fab selfie of you and of selfie and dog. 😊. That looks professional.
I love Chinese food too. My favourite is king prawn curry but my favourite Chinese is closed due to covid for now. One of my happy waves is seeing him make the alterations to his shop though and knowing he will open again soon safely.
I love that you have dedicated reading time, along with tea and maybe cake that sounds great. My happy waves include my buddy reads. Reading and discussing has encouraged me to read more and also different genres which have been good.
I look forward to more of these posts hopefully. 👍
    Love Amanda xx

  7. I missed this post Meggy. It sounds like a great start to 2021 for you. I am not crazy about the beginning of a new year when it is cold and crappy out, but looking for the positives helps.
