Hello everyone! It’s been months since my last tag post, so when I read Misty’s Book Space‘s blog, I thought ‘Hey, this is perfect for my first tag of 2020!’
The Currently Reading Book Tag was created by Charly Reynhorse.
How many books do you usually read at once?
For a long time, I was a one-book-at-a-time person. BUT, as my blogging and TBR grew, I realized I could expand the reading experience. I know usually have an audiobook on the go, along with either a print or ebook novel, sometimes both. I thought my brain couldn’t handle so much, but it turns out it can!
If you’re reading more than one book at a time, how do you decide when to switch to reading the other book (do you read a certain amount of pages in each?)
It all comes down to which mood I’m in. Sometimes, something occurs in a novel and I need a break. Other times, I just want something lighter. It changes with the wind. I’m not alone in this, right?
Do you ever switch bookmarks while you’re part way through a book?
Guilty. I keep losing my bookmarks, except for the wonderful little ones created by my friend Amanda.
Where do you keep the book(s) you’re currently reading?
The audiobook is always in my pocket, where my iPhone is. I walk around with my Kindle or my book so they follow me wherever I go, from the bedroom to the living room, or the toilet! They travel a lot! If I have to leave them be for a few hours, I keep them on my desk.
What time of day do you spend the most time reading?
It all depends on my day. If I’m busy and working, I’ll be reading during breakfast and after 4pm until I go to bed. If I’m free, I love reading until a chore comes up!
How long do you typically read for in one go?
Again, it depends but usually I do my best to have at least an hour before me when I settle on the couch to read.
Do you read hard covers with the dust jacket on or off?
Wait, you mean you can read hardbacks?? They’re not just here to look pretty??? I’ve been buying hardbacks to make the shelves look beautiful and then reading the paperbacks 😂 I don’t take the dust jacket off while reading, which has resulted in some being torn or worse…
Which position do you mainly use to read?
Whatever position I’m living in 🤣 Standing, sitting, lying on my back or my belly…
Do you take the book you’re currently reading with you everywhere you go?
YES! You never know when you’re gonna have some free time to dive back in!
How often do you update your progress in the book you’re currently reading on Goodreads?
I don’t have Goodreads on my phone, so I usually update when I’m starting a book, then when I’ve finish it.
I’m tagging everyone who feels like doing it!
Happy Sunday!
Love your answers! My reading material goes with me, everywhere too!

I can read two books at a time – one on my tablet, and one printed book. I switch when the tablet needs charging!

Great to read your answers! I’m still at the one book at a time stage 😁 , I wish I could read more at the same time. You can count the number of hardbacks I own on one hand I think so I certainly take the dust jacket off when reading 😃

I can’t remember what made me try to get several books read at the same time. I think I was unsatisfied with my current read but couldn’t DNF it haha!
I can’t be bothered with dust jackets xD xx

Audiobooks are a great way to sneakily fit in an extra book or two! 😀

I agree with you about switching between books. Sometimes I just need a break so I move onto something else but I can rarely pay attention to more than 2 books.
