Suntag : Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag

When I opened my eyes today, the calendar marked July, 3rd. How come? Only yesterday did I create my blog and discovered I had no talent whatsoever for design. Only yesterday did I learn what a TBR was and decided I needed one too. Six months have come and gone in the blink of an eye. My favorite Orang-Utan knows the feeling and nicely tagged me for some freaking out time! Thank you so much, my dear! If you like bananas and brilliant posts, make sure to pop a visit to her blog!

#Best Book You’ve Read Yet in 2016

I dread that question. They say you can’t have a favorite child. Well, I say I can’t have a favorite book! Okay, I will try anyway, but don’t tell the others.

#Best Sequel You’ve Read So Far in 2016

Although it was slightly less good than The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trials brought me back to the Wicked world with lots of actions and even more questions.

#New Release You Haven’t Read Yet But Want To

I fell in love with S.K Tremayne’s writing style so I am very excited about The Fire Child. The thing is I am waiting for the paperback version, which will be released in… 2017. Life is unfair.

#Most Anticipated Release for the Second Half of the Year

La Cour des Roses reopens August 26th. I can’t wait to go back on holiday with Emmie.

#Biggest Disappointment

Publishers need to be more careful with their promises. 2084 was supposed to be 1984’s heir. For me, it was merely a should-have-DNFed book. I could not even bring myself to write a review.

#Biggest Surprise

Whenever I hear fairy tale, I run faster than a chocoholic dashes to the garden on Easter day. I never expected to enjoy reading about Snow White’s life, let alone giving the book 4 stars.

#Favorite New Author

I promise I’ll stop with The Dali Deception. Wait. No, I won’t. The story is great. Yes, I only have read one book from Adam Maxwell, but his writing is brilliant, and he is as funny as he is nice. Now all I want to do is harass him until I finally get The Dali Deception’s sequel.

#Newest Fictional Crush

I still haven’t awarded the title, but there are a few candidates. I still have 6 months to make up my mind about them. Crushes are a very big deal.

#Newest Favorite Character

Hello, Blue!

#Book That Made You Cry

This story moved me to tears. I usually stay away from sad books, but it is good to open the gates once in a while.

#Book That Made You Happy

This series offers the best entertainment. Complaining and criticizing make me happy, and Throne of Glass is the perfect target to my snarky comments.

#Favorite Book to Film Adaptation

Hahahahaha. Can I change that into the worst book to movie adaptation? Because my answer is quite clear. The Maze Runner. The director better run far away, hide and pray I never find him.

This being said, I am looking forward to Me Before You. If you haven’t already done it, take a look at that cast and play the Who Played What game.

#Favorite Post You Have Done This Year

For personal reasons, my all time favorite is the Life Update post I published in May. I am also quite proud of the my first discussion post. I had lots of fun writing it but when the time came to publish it, I was suddenly shy and nervous.

#Most Beautiful Book You’ve Bought This Year

I could only get the Kindle version, but this cover is still my favorite.

#What Books Do You Need to Read by the End of the Year

This book has been on my TBR before I knew I had a TBR. I bought Never Let Me Go in 2014 and never opened it.

    1. I can’t wait to discover your answers 🙂 I thought it was the right day for a little recap. I had never read as much as I did in the last 6 months, so I feel the need to keep track of everything.

  1. Happy blogiversary! I agree with you 100% on The Scorch Trials. I loved that book. Too bad the ending of the series fell flat for me. I remember closing the book, thinking that’s it? I still have to do this tag. I’m so behind on tags. I’m too busy starting Twitter battles. 😉 Nice answer with ToG. You like it because you like to complain. 😂

    1. Thank you, no thrill Jill :p ❤ I made it through the first 6 months, so I should be okay now. They say if you keep your baby happy, clean and fed that long, the rest is cake.
That's exactly the effect The Death Cure had on me. I did not see the point in the killing of one of the main characters at the end (no spoiler, no name!) . It all felt rushed, as if Dashner had been surprised to reach the end of his own story and hadn't thought in advance.
I keep promising myself to do all the tags in chronological order, and then when I write Sunday posts, I only pick one randomly. Poor tags.
There is no other way to love ToG 😂 Although I just found a character I like, and a ship to hold on to! I'm pretty sure said character is gonna die because that's what happens when I fall for one. Wish I'd liked Celaena xD

  2. I’m planning to do one of these as well! I still can’t believe we’re already in the second half of 2016… I’m so excited about The Ice Twins now! 😀 And I had a similar reaction to Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close. Great tag!

    1. I’m totally freaked out about the time. It looks like it’s running faster when you’re busy. I will need more than 6 months to finish all that I had planned to do in 2016!
Now I hope The Ice Twins won’t disappoint you! 😀 (but it surely won’t!)

    1. Thank you! 🙂 I know, it’s so weird. I feel blogging has made time fly even faster. I can’t remember the last time I complained about the time being too slow, or me being bored!

  3. Aww thanks for all your kind words! I love Never Let Me Go- I hope you enjoy it 🙂 And Blue is a cool character 🙂 haha I’ve only seen the Maze Runner movie (I’ve not read the book) and I really wasn’t sold on it- so I get what you mean. I’m also looking forward to Me Before You- I’ve just finished the book! Great post 😀

    1. The Maze Runner’s movie needs to be burnt and forgotten. Seriously. I should have recorded myself yelling at my screen the entire time. I looked crazy (I am, but I usually don’t look like it, haha!)
      Thank you 😀 ❤

  4. Glad to see that you enjoyed The Ice Twins so much. Now I can’t wait to read it. The Fire child also looks pretty good. Congrats on hitting the six months mark. Your blog is doing quite well already. Keep blogging and happy reading 🙂

    1. Thank you! 🙂 I’m very happy with my blog (as long as I don’t compare with others, haha!). I never expected to reach 6months. I was sure I would give up pretty fast. I hope you enjoy The Ice Twins, it’s brilliantly creepy!

  5. Now this actually looks like a fun tag! I might have to borrow this, if you don’t mind ^-^ Mind you, I don’t know when I’d do it..
Great answers! I’ve heard some mixed things about The Maze Runner but is on my TBR list, so I’ll see what the fuss is about sooner or later 🙂

  6. You can just request The Fire Child via Netgalley (read now) and then buy yourself a paperback edition in 2017.
I already finished the book (my review is up today), and I liked it very much!!
I’m looking forward to read The Ice Twins now, especially now when I saw it was your favorite read of this year so far…

    1. My ratio and my reason won’t allow me to go on NetGalley, haha! I did try but this particular publisher never approves my requests. I’ll make a note to check your review whenever I get the time, I am happy you liked it! The Ice Twins had a huge impact on me and I keep pushing it on all of my friends 🙂

          1. I actually sent them a review request via email recently for a book that’s coming out in October and they replied that they will put me on the list for the book proof.
I am happy, but I really don’t know what is their politic when it comes to ARCs, but I suggest that, if you really want to read one of their books, you could reach them via email.
I know you’re from France, and since I’m from Croatia, we’re both not from UK, but I guess thay do send in EU:
My book hasn’t arrived yet, but I hope it will at some point. 😀
I hope you’ll enjoy The Fire Child!
