(Belated) August Wrap-up! + #BookOfTheMonth

August was a big month for me, both personally and professionally. No wonder I did not find the time to write this wrap-up earlier! But here I am now, ready to check what happened reading-wise.

What did I review in August?

Not so many reviews to share, whoops!

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Favorite Book Alert

Fifty-Fifty doesn’t count for a full new favorite as I only re-shared my review! I sat on my review of The Search Party for so long, it was a relief to finally tell you all about it! Finally, Don’t Turn Around was a fantastic discovery!

The Search Party

Don’t Turn Around

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I loved it

The story, the cover, I loved everything! It is a strong read!

A Ruined Girl

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

It’s a good read

I like to see different genres popping around!

One Eye Open

The Hit List

A Walk Along the Beach

Rating: 2 out of 5.

I had major issues with the subject, the plot had holes in it, the characters lacked depth, and/or the writing did not convince me. I was bored during the reading.

I am still baffled at how this book made me feel…

The Heart Goes Last

Books I added to my shelves

I behaved!!! Whoop whoop! 🤣

The Book of the Month

It fed my hunger for American fiction, it made me travel and think and I loved it…

What’s next?

I need to rewrite reviews that WordPress lost! And find time to keep blogging despite my hectic schedule. I am not complaining, I am very lucky, and very happy, despite the weird world we are living in… Thank you so much for bearing with me and my disappearance!

See you in… a couple of weeks for the next wrap-up, haha! Take care, be kind, and smile!

Meggy xx

  1. I’ve not been around as much either but I am happy to read that you are doing well! I will add Don’t turn around to my wishlist 😀

Happy reading (and re-writing reviews – frustrating!!!)

  2. Yay I loved Fifty Fifty too and I hope my deal goes through with another blogger to receive The Search Party so that’s two of your top reads then! I have Snap on my shelves too to read but I’m really jealous of your copy of The Hermit. If the blurb is anything to go by, it sounds amazing! Happy reading!!

  3. I’ve read a book called Don’t Turn Around and it has similar colours to your book cover, but is a totally different book by another author. When I saw your favourite books I first thought I’d read 2! But no just 1 and 1 fabulous one it is.
Loving that your personal and professional life is happy.
