Sometimes, you’re tired, you don’t understand what others tell you, you get slapped with a dish towel when your mother asks you for the seventh time to pass the ketchup. It’s just one of those days when you’re exhausted and no matter how hard you try, you’ll never be at your best. Still, it’s a full day, 24 hours to use, and you try to make the best of it… So you vlog.
I’m not happy with the result of this video. I considered not posting because of my “one try” rule. It is so frustrating because when you only have one shot and you hear so many mistakes you don’t usually make, you want to erase it all and start over. Except I think no matter how many tries I would have given it, nothing perfect would have come up so… At least, I have guests, I had fun talking to my screen, and the excitement of talking about books took over, haha!
Lesson of the day: don’t prepare your vlog post on a bad day! But as I’m supposed to be proud of every time I try something, here I present you… The last video of the summer!
I can’t blame you if you did not finish this one! Let’s recap: book love, dogs, and Chocolate’n’Waffles is taking a week off to prepare for the new scholar year! (and read…)
I am super extra absolutely thankful for all the comments, likes, and visits I get, but the past couple of weeks have seen me struggling trying to catch up, reply on time, visit all blogs, so I need a small break, and a new plan, a way to figure out where blogging is going to fit in that new Prime Minister schedule of mine! I seriously admire you all juggling with kids, hubbies, work, chores, and life!!!
I will NOT be on social media this time, unlike what I did during my week off in July. This is a massive challenge for me! But I’ve rediscovered the little joys of going out, enjoying different things, and I feel the need to unplug. I will, however, be reachable by email. I’ll check them every day around 6pm Paris time (so so precise!) so if you need your Donna, don’t hesitate!
One last thing: thank you everyone for making my summer a fantastic one!
Enjoy your break especially as you are unplugging completely this time – it does everyone good to recharge their batteries from time to time.

When the guilt of not being able to visit all blogs appear, I always protect myself with a little break 🙂 I don’t want to become jaded with blogging!

Sorry to hear that you have been feeling overwhelmed Meggy. I have been there and yes, the breaks usually do help. I hope that your vacation will do you good. Looking forward to having you back here on September 4th.
Have a wonderful, restful time and all the best with your future plans ❤

The blogging break was just was I needed! I couldn’t stay away from social media, though, as most of my friends are on it and I felt a bit alone at time, wandering in the countryside 🙂 I had lots of reading done and I am coming to terms with the fact I won’t have as much time for blogging now. But it’s okay 🙂 ❤

You are so brave … and brilliant! Enjoy your time out. Blogging and especially the social media side of it is so time consuming! It will all still be here when you return and you deserve a break xxx

Aw, thank you 🙂 I’m just throwing myself into the world now, just trying 🙂 I was happy to stay away from blogs, even though I know I’ve missed awesome posts, because on top of my favorite blogs list, there are so many sites I feel I need to visit, I was concerned about my reduced blogging time. Now I’ve accepted I won’t be able to comment and read everything every day, but I hope to stay a part of the community 🙂 I totally failed the social media unplugging, though, right? :p xxx

I really loved your video- don’t be so hard on yourself! And yes we all need blogging breaks! Definitely want to read Abrupt Physics of Dying! Awwww the dogs!!! I really enjoyed Mountain in my shoe 😀 And darn I need to read Block 46 too (it’s getting embarrassing now- cos that’s been on my kindle since you recommended it… I’m drowning under books!!) (I also got really excited that I understood your French, even though my ability to speak it is still zero 😉 whatever, it’s a good day for poor little English nerdy self that’s been trying and failing to learn French for years 😉 ) And I love the sound of Best Intention- it’s also on my wishlist!

Thank you ❤ I hate it when I hear myself and spot issues on things I've been working on! Can't help it, but the perfectionist I am shared it anyway so there's improvement!
This blogging break was fantastic, I feel like blogging like crazy again! 🙂 Won't be possible, but I'm planning a schedule to be active as much as possible, as I believe my blog is a tool for my publishing program.
YOU NEED TO READ THOSE BOOKS!!!!!
Haha, I hadn't even noticed I had switched to French before I watched the video when I was done! Thank you so much for watching!! xxxx

Wow your number 1 choice was a little bit surprising and I think I’ll have to check it out. I like that it’s so relatable, something that could happen to you and me as well and you just don’t know what’s going to happen next! I’m going to read your number 2 soon as well, and I just hope I don’t have too high expectation now after hearing you talk about it! Lovely to see the dogs, Iris is such a good girl :-). I hope you had a good time off and it did you a world of good! If you read this, it’s great to have you back ! 🙂

I know, it’s not a book I’ve seen much around and my review was only published in mid August, but it had such an impact on me, I just had to choose it. I hope you enjoy both books!! You can’t have high enough expectations for any of them :p
I knew I’d win points with the dogs, haha! My babies had to make an appearance! I’m happy to be back, I’ve missed you! xx

Hi Meggy!
I hope your break is going well… I hope you have managed to limit your social media use! 😉 and actually enjoying the freedom from SM as well… 🙂
I love your dogs, they’re such cute fluffballs 🙂
Bad video? Not at all… any little mistakes you think you made? We’re all only human and all stumble over words, even when the language is the first language we speak! 🙂
Look forward to having you back and hearing about your break!

My darling ❤ I totally failed to unplug from social media because I missed everyone on it! It's more difficult when your real life friends have left you behind! But the blogging break was nice, I realized I need a list of go-to blogs and fit others when I have time. I'm gonna allow myself a little blogging time during the week and more in the weekend, but I'll be less active, even though I have posts ready for the entire month of September and I'm hoping to keep that head up.
🙂 You're sweet! I was making mistakes in French too, damn sleepless nights!

Some great sounding books there. It’s fun to choose your top ten, however I think your end of year top ten will be really hard to choose because you have read so many great books. I didn’t know is there was a sequel to Block 46, I hope you enjoy it as much as the first. Out of all the books you spoke of I like the sound of the Kaye mysteries best. I have to push Rachel Amphlett up on my tbr I think.
I hope your week off was amazing and you read lots of fab books.
Are you going to keep making videos when you start your degree?
I look forward to you being back.
Amanda. xx

I’m dreading the 2017 Top Ten. I’ll make it a Top 20 haha! And if 20 is not enough I’ll pass!! Johana Gustawsson is currently writing the third book I think so, yeah, I’m happy that for once I get the privilege to read first 🙂 I said over and over but Kay Hunter is my favorite and this series is a must!
I’m thinking about a monthly vlog about something special, so I think yes, there will be more videos 🙂 Also, I’d like to try a review with that format!
It’s good to be back xxxx
