When I saw this tag on Kat @ Life and Other Disasters I knew I had to do it. Fall is finally here (my fingers are so cold I can barely type this) so it’s time to celebrate with some seasonal fun! (before I lose my hands!)
Note to self: I need to take a break from tags until I can come up with new book titles to fill the categories! (hidden message: READ FASTER)
APPLE PICKING: A book on your TBR that looks so delicious you can’t wait to get a bite out of it
Food for the eyee! Look at this mix of blue and white! Even if it has nothing to do with the story, the cover always makes me think of a cold kind of magic. Go figure. Anyway, it’s beautiful, lyrical, and it’s mine, haha!
CORN MAZE: A book that is so much fun to get lost in
I never thought I would use a book from this series for a tag. Never. But I am forced to admit I had so much fun reading Queen of Shadows that I forgot to eat a couple of times. I still would not call Celaena my best friend, but the story is good enough to make you forget about your life and fight for the “good” side!
HAUNTED HOUSE: A book that scared you silly
Everything scares me. It is weird because I’m the one the family turns to to kill giant spiders, get rid of frogs frightening the dogs, and see what made this noise near the trash can at midnight. Still, I can’t read spooky books because I’m afraid to be scared. Maybe I should just pick a very scary one and see if I survive once and for all, you know, turn scary into a good thing.
The last book that gave me goosebumps and had me scared for the characters was The Ice Twins. I blame the creepy atmosphere!
PUMPKIN PATCH: The latest book you picked up (purchased)
Because who can resist a legal thriller?
SCENIC DRIVES: A book that is lyrically beautiful
Did you really think I would go through an entire tag without mentioning at least one of my favorite books?
PUMPKIN CARVING: A book you did not like and wouldn’t mind carving up
You cannot promise me a fun story in New York with plenty of makeup and leave me hanging. I don’t forgive.
DRINKING APPLE CIDER: A sweet book to curl up under the covers with
The right series to read on a cold cold night. Everyone pick a boy to keep them warm!
JUMPING IN A LEAF PILE: A book that reminds you of your childhood
The easy and obvious answer, because any other book I would mention would not ring a bell as they are French and unknown and… These are just excuses, Harry Potter is THE book to pick when it comes to childhood, if you were lucky enough to grow up with magic.
SCARY MOVIE NIGHT: Your favorite spooky read
Can I go with a genre instead? Because at least 70% of all psychological thrillers could fit into this category. We have plenty of scary thrillers filled with characters you don’t want to meet in the elevator.
BONUS COSTUME PARTY: A book with an eclectic cast of characters
You need the right cast for the perfect heist.
DESSERT: Bloggers I want to tag
Reg @ She Latitude
Doven @ The Reading Dove
Zezee @ Zezee With Books
and everyone who wants to share the cold love!
I’ve never heard of The Summer that Melted Everything but the title has me intrigued and the cover looks delicious! I’ll have to look it up. I’ll admit I’m a bit chicken to read most thrillers, but I have a couple on my TBR that I’m hoping to get to soon.

Just go and get it! 🙂 The Summer That Melted Everything seems to be a hit or miss. It was obviously a hit for me, I loved the writing. For once, I did not roll my eyes at metaphors and complex sentences! Thrillers do have a very realistic way of scaring us. It’s so weird that I can devour thrillers but can’t handle a real spooky book, haha!

For the love of books and the ’80’s, pick up that book XD.

I need to get through a few ARCs very fast so that I can finally read The Summer that Melted Everything. This post just reminded me of the book. I am also yet to read The Ice Twins. I read Fire Child but it wasn’t really scary. Ice Twins sounds great. Loved your answers. We don’t have Fall here. I didn’t know that its a cold season. I just thought it was a bit warm with leaves falling. Keep warm and enjoy the season.

I really hope you enjoy The Summer That Melted Everything when you get to it. The Widow has been my most anticipated book of the year but I haven’t been able to read it because of ARCs! The Fire Child was less good in my opinion. The atmosphere in The Ice Twins is so special. No fall? It’s my favorite season, when the cold settles in and the colors change. I can’t stand the heat and winter is too depressing, but fall is perfect 🙂

Hahaha I use the same books for the categories ALL. THE. TIME. And I’ve read more this year than I have in the years before, so I can’t really use the excuse that I haven’t read enough.

As always another quality tag, not books for me (whispers quietly, I have read the Harry Potter series and loved it though) but a great read.😀

I love your mindset to pick a real scary book and see if you are cured for-ever and ever :-). I still have to read and buy The Ice Twins but then I’m not scared of anything in books. Real life is very scary to me though, sounds, spiders, you name it. I jump at least once a week when someone in the office is too silent and suddenly stands next to me or starts talking. Guilty conscience it seems ;-). I don’t tell them I read too many books. Did you know they are going to open a real Harry Potter school ?! Just saw something about that on FB yesterday! I haven’t read any of your books listed, I saw the movie first and then decided to read the next book.

This is me trying to be adventurous, haha! Real is scary for sure, between animals and humans, Mother Nature gives us plenty of scares! What? I did not know about the HP school! I’m torn between it’s awesome, and it’s weird.

I didn’t read the entire article until now (http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/news/harry-potter-real-life-hogwarts-to-open-next-year-france-fantastic-beasts-a7386516.html). It’s only 4 days a year in Bourgougnague, and all the lessons are in French ;-). It’s both awesome and weird, but who cares that it’s weird, it’s awesome :-).

Ahhh The Raven Boys! I’ve been curling up with the series before bed for the past couple of weeks and didn’t think it was the right decision – I LOVED THEM but they also spooked me (because I’m a huge scaredy cat) and made it hard for me to sleep. I’m also not sure who I’d like to cuddle with… all the boys seem a bit scary and totally not my usual preference for cuddle buddies. Who would you go for? 😂
Thanks for the tag! We’re coming up on spring in Australia but I already miss fall. 🍂

I’m easily scared too! It doesn’t take much for me not to sleep and think of terribly frightening things! I’d go with Gansey :p Adam is too focused on his poor-boy complex, Rowan is my least fav and Noah is .. well, you know! :p
I’m not jealous of you, spring means summer soon and I hate the heat!!

Oh my god, me too. I could just be lying in bed, totally happy, and then I read the word “paranormal” and I start imagining things looking at me from my empty chair, etc. IT’S THE WORST.
I knooow. It gets super hot too here and I wish I could escape it, but alas, I have to work. 😫

Great answers for this tag Donna. I’ve seen The Summer that Melted Everything before, probably on your blog, so I may have to check it out. It sounds interesting and that fact that you’ve called it one of your favourite books is a draw for me as well. 🙂
Harry Potter is the ultimate book that reminds me of my childhood as well! Even today it’s still a favourite series of mine! Also I’m glad to see The Raven Boys and Queen of Shadows among your picks as well, both of those are favourite series of mine too! 😀

Thank you! 🙂 Yep, I’ve been talking a little bit too much about The Summer That Melted Everything, haha! If I listened to myself, HP would be the answer to so many tag categories that it would make doing tags the most boring thing!

I’ll definitely be checking that book out then, hopefully I’ll be able to get around to it soon as well.
I guess that proves that it’s such a classic for a lot of people, and that’s not really a bad thing is it?

It’s been 16 degrees here for the past 3 days >.>. I believe it’s 15 out there now. My dog is getting a tan in the sun outside. This is just WRONG!! But I’m glad for you that the cold has finally arrived in Bordeaux ;).
Hahaha, I’m so glad to see I’m not the only one who’s able to do the things that other people (normal people 😉 ) find scary xD. If I hear a sound downstairs in the middle of the night, I grab an umbrella and go for it. Or going for a stroll in a dark forest by myself. Then how come we’re afraid of things that don’t make any sense at all?! Ah, it’s a mystery. Loved this tag <3. And the fact that you featured TSTME of course ;).
