I was very curious about the author’s take on a blended family. I expected a thousand things but Claire Seeber surprised me.  Review to come soon.

≈ Now ≈ The Summer That Melted Everything, Tiffany McDaniel

When word spreads that the devil has come to Breathed, not everyone is happy to welcome this self-proclaimed fallen angel. Murmurs follow him and tensions rise, along with the temperatures as an unbearable heat wave rolls into town right along with him. As strange accidents start to occur, riled by the feverish heat, some in the town start to believe that Sal is exactly who he claims to be. While the Bliss family wrestles with their own personal demons, a fanatic drives the town to the brink of a catastrophe that will change this sleepy Ohio backwater forever.

This book belongs to the ones you take your time to read in order to fully appreciate the writing. If I say anything more, I know I won’t stop babbling, so you’ll have to wait for the review to know more about it!

New book, new buddy reading time! Flo @ Flowless Books and I are having a good time disagreeing on Celaena. I also finally found a character I really like, let’s hope the author doesn’t kill her or worse, turn her into a lady too.

∨ Next ∨ The Real Book Thief Ingrid Black

In October 2015, crime writer Ingrid Black discovered that her first novel The Dead, the story of a former FBI agent tracking down a serial killer in Dublin, had been plagiarised and was being sold under a different name by another author on Kindle.

The thief’s name was Joanne Clancy, a former Kindle All Star, and the book that she called Tear Drop was No 1 in the Irish crime fiction charts at the time. Not only that, but she had a second book scheduled for release in a few weeks time, and that one turned out to be a carbon copy of Ingrid Black’s second book about the same character, The Dark Eye. The Real Book Thief tells the story of how Ingrid Black discovered what had happened and how she went about trying to find out more about the mysterious woman who had stolen her work.

This week’s events have reminded me this book was on my Kindle (I must find a way to keep better track of the books I own!) I felt very unsettled when I received an email informing me the first blog tour I had signed up for might be cancelled because of suspicions of plagiarism. I don’t know what is going to happen, but I figured it was the right time to read The Real Book Thief.
